Inviting Team Members
Access Requirements
To invite or manage team members, your account must have the Manage Users permission.
By default, Admins and Owners can invite and manage other users.
Other roles can invite users only if they have been assigned the required permission through a custom role.
The user who creates the workspace is typically assigned the Owner role.
How to invite your Team Members?
Open Settings
Select Settings from the left navigation menu.
Open Team Settings
Select Team from the Settings menu.
Select Invite User
Enter the User's Details.
Enter the team member's work email address. Select the appropriate system or custom role based on the access they require.
Review the details and select Invite.
User Receives the Invitation
Fibr sends an invitation email containing a unique invitation link to the specified email address. The invitation link is:
- Unique to the invitation
- Valid for 72 hours
- Intended for one-time use
The recipient must use this link to join the intended Fibr workspace.
User Accepts the Invitation
The invited user selects the invitation link and signs in or creates their Fibr account using an available authentication method.
After successful authentication:
- The invitation is validated.
- The user is added to the workspace.
- The assigned role and permissions become active.
- The user appears in the Team section.
Invitation Status
Workspace administrators can manage outstanding invitations from Settings > Team.
Depending on the invitation status, an Admin or Owner can:
- View pending invitations
- Resend an invitation
- Revoke an invitation
- Review accepted users
- Update a user's role
If an invitation expires before it is accepted, resend it to generate a new link.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Possible Cause | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
Invite User option is not available | Your account does not have the required user-management permission. | Contact a workspace Owner, Admin, or user with the required permission to send the invitation or update your access. |
Invitation email not received | The email may have been filtered by the recipient's email provider or corporate security settings. | Ask the recipient to check their spam or junk folder and confirm that the email address entered is correct. You can also resend the invitation from Settings > Team. |
Invitation link has expired | Invitation links are valid for 72 hours. | Resend the invitation from Settings > Team. The recipient should use the newly generated invitation link. |
Invitation link is invalid | The invitation may have expired, been revoked, or already been accepted. | Check the invitation status in Settings > Team. Resend the invitation if required. |
User joined a different workspace | The user may have signed up independently instead of using the workspace invitation link. | Ask the user to use the invitation link associated with the intended workspace. Contact [email protected] if additional assistance is required. |
Unable to resend or revoke an invitation | Your account may not have permission to manage team members. | Confirm that your account has the required user-management permission. If not, contact a workspace Owner or Admin. |
